If there’s one thing I love, it’s beautiful images of newborns. If there’s another, it’s sharing those images with others, namely through birth announcements. As a mom, I know I was so excited to share the news of my beautiful baby girl with the world. I wanted them to see just how beautiful she was through our eyes and I wanted her to be celebrated. I wanted to do this through so much more than an Instagram post. (Let’s forget the fact that when I had my daughter that I didn’t know that Instagram was a social sharing app…I was under the impression that it was just an editing program for cell-phone pictures and I took the only selfies of my entire pregnancy before we left for the hospital and they were NOT appropriate to share with the world. Fortunately I only had like 3 followers at the time who were quick to let me know that I just posted those for all to see, but let’s just say it wasn’t my finest moment.) Anyways…for this momentous occasion in our lives, I wanted to make sure the news was shared in the traditional, timeless and beautiful way that it should be. Her birth announcements were her first introduction to her family across the states, one of the first pieces to grace her baby book (that remains unfinished), and the card that would stay on our refrigerator long after the save-the-dates and wedding invitations were tossed. I wanted them to be lovely. And they were. Simple, free of cluttered design and trendy verbiage. They were as lovely as my wedding invitations and to me, meant just as much. This truly marked the beginning of our family.
I have worked hard to find the perfect balance between what my clients desire and what I love when it comes to announcing the babies I photograph. I have curated a collection of announcements that combine traditional with modern, a handful that are more trendy but also clean, as well as my own designs that I believe will be timeless and focus on the most important parts of your announcement…your beautiful baby, and your message to friends and family.
Because I love this tradition so much, every client will receive a complimentary set of birth announcements with their newborn session. I am so excited to share my designs with you today.
And for those who really like to make an impact, folded cards will be available as a small upgrade to complimentary flat cards.
