Daily Project | Atlanta Lifestyle Photographer | Introducing Liam

It’s been quiet around the blog lately, but for the best of reasons!  I have been so excited to finally share photos of our new addition to our family…on April 4, 2016 , at 11:36pm (24 minutes before his due date!) we welcomed our precious son, Liam, into the world and he instantly stole our hearts.  It was truly love at first sight.  Those of you who had the (pleasure) of watching me waddle around your session the last few months before his arrival might not be surprised to hear that he weighed in at 8 pounds and was nearly 21 inches long…but he still curls up into the tiniest of a little ball of amazingness and I just can’t keep my hands (and lips) off of him.  We are so, so in love.

I didn’t have anything but my iphone on hand for my daughter’s birth and I totally regret that…so much that I insisted my husband do his best to grab some shots immediately after Liam’s birth and I also hired my sweet friend, Elizabeth Blank, to come photograph his “Fresh 48” session while we were still in the hospital…and I’m so glad I did!  (Will have to share some of those later…I can’t even choose favorites, she did such a great job!)  I can’t imagine ever forgetting the intense emotions of delivering and meeting my babies, but the details do fade…I hope these help me hang onto them a little longer 🙂

The sound of his sweet cry was music to my ears…years of uncertainty followed by months of discomfort ceased to exist in my mind and relief washed over me.  Our family was complete.  And he was perfect.

Less than 12 hours after his birth, our family was chomping at the bit to meet our sweet new nugget and we, of course, were eager to show him off – still fueled by new-baby adrenaline.  My sister’s family was the first to show up and my precious niece Piper got the first kisses.  They were still there when Clay’s parent’s showed up with big sister and I’m so glad they got the introduction on film.  She was beside herself with excitement <3.

Me and my babies.  My heart is so full.

Proud grandparents!

The first baby boy on my side of the family!  My dad loves his girls, but I think he’s pretty thrilled to have someone to mow his grass one day…

Big sister adoring and feeding baby Liam, whom at the time she was still adamant about naming “Luke”…she’s a Star Wars fan.

Doing all the hard work…

Exactly 48 hours after his birth and during a torrential downpour, we were discharged home with our sweet baby boy where my mom and both 4-legged children were waiting to welcome us.

Since then, life has flown by at warp-speed.  We’re settling into our new normal and despite the need for some serious naps, we pretty much couldn’t be any happier and are doing great as a family of 4.

We blinked and all of a sudden I was documenting his 1-month appointment and praising my nearly 10-pound baby for doing such a great job growing…after a few scares that included a trip to the ER and the cardiologist, weight-gain and a good report from our sweet doctor was such a relief.  Even still, I can’t help but to wish him to slow the heck down already.

Now if summer would just come and come to STAY, life would be just about perfect 😉  In a completely chaotic, imperfect way, that is.
