Ah, November.  The month of all things “thanks.”  This year, we have so much to be thankful for.  (For one, our major home reno project is finally complete…praise God and all the pilgrims and Native Americans!) In all seriousness, though, we have truly been blessed this year.  A new home with a great yard to […]

Love this post! And… just wait, the teenage and young adult years are just as wine-inducing;)ReplyCancel

Oh, there is so much beauty here, both inside and out! I absolutely adore that last one of you and her with the secrect glances. Such a special and beautiful bond. And your baby bump is adorable!ReplyCancel

  • Bethany Mattioli

These are so sweet and your bump is adorable! My 4 year old sounds very similar and all I can do is hope and pray that his extreme stubborness will one day be an unstoppable drive used for good (and enjoy a glass or two of wine after bedtime in the meantime, ha ha).ReplyCancel

  • Tiffany Kelly

These are beautiful and you look amazing with your cute little bump!ReplyCancel

It’s been a few months since I’ve had my “ish” together enough to pull off one of these posts…and I’m not going to lie, this one was a toss-up between pulling teeth, wrestling an alligator, and killing my grumpy “tripod”…but, alas.  Here we are!  I thought this month particularly important to document because we have hit a […]

Thank you for sharing your heart Feath! Being new to the self employeed working mom world has no doubt been so very rewarding to have more time at home with my family but, has also been so much more challenging than I ever imaged. Trying to balance a professional career and family all under the same roof certainly has it days. Yet in the quiet moments I feel so thankful that God has given me the opportunity to learn how to find the balance . This post reminds me that Im not alone in the search. Thank you for sharing! You’re a great mommie to your sweet girl and baby boy! So excited for your growing family.ReplyCancel

  • Laura

So excited for a baby BOY! Wow! You’re not alone in your feelings about motherhood! I remember feeling sad about my alone time with V flying by, but along with the other new rewards a sibling brings, the alone time you’ll find with Camryn while the baby naps becomes even sweeter. It is one of my favorite parts of the day- like a little secret retreat from real life where V and I get to hang out like old times (unless i have to get things done which of course means I shun her to the couch for endless cartoons like any good mom would do).ReplyCancel

    • admin

Laura, thank you for this. It is so encouraging and makes me even more excited 🙂 And I love that I’m not the only rockstar mom who “shuns” her kid to the tv for endless chunks of the day. xoxoReplyCancel

  • Julie Pitt

Enjoy the journey sweet girl and don’t be too hard on yourself!😘 hugs.. Mama C❤️😍🙏ReplyCancel

Heather, you are such a great photographer…but even better yet, a fantastic mom. We’re so excited for you, Clay and Cam..and if you’re in your 2nd trimester, that means we’ll get to meet this little guy when we’re back in town next summer. Can’t wait to see CamiCakes be a big sister!! Hugs to you guys!!ReplyCancel

Heather, I missed this post when you first posted, but just caught a glimpse of you saying that frozen yogurt was meeting your hormonal cravings and thought, “There must be more to this story!!”. I’m so super excited for you and your sweet baby BOY! There is something so precious about baby boys…and watching your baby girl come into this new role as Big Sister and loving, bossy, know-it-all friend. 🙂 In regards to your words about juggling it all….I SO get it. SO get it. But you know what? I think the fact that we get it means we are trying our darndest to soak it all in, too. On days where I beat myself up because I feel like I just was too impatient and didn’t appreciate it alllll enough, I try to be thankful that at least I have the wherewithal to know that I should be appreciating it (does that make any sense? No? Yeah, I’ll blame that on my kids. lol.) Anyway, I’m rambling. Just wanted you to know that I’m thrilled for your news and wish you the best from here on out!ReplyCancel

A Letter to My Daughter To my beautiful three-year-old little girl, I can hardly believe you are three.  More so, I can hardly believe I am a mother to a three-year-old.  (When did I go and become an adult?!)  You are wise beyond your years and have seemingly been a little girl since you started walking. These are gorgeous, just breath taking. Was that a self portrait in there? You should do a blog post on how to make a great self portrait!! I would love to do more of those.

    <3ReplyCancel

    • admin

Actually, Miranda, I turned my hubby into a human tripod 😉 He’s been my assistant in training for a few years now, so as long as he just keeps pressing the shutter, we find a decent amount of good shots amidst the hundreds 😉ReplyCancel

  • These images of beyond gorgeous. What a great idea this project is. You child will truly treasure these photographs forever. Ps – is it really that green in Atlanta already? Lucky!ReplyCancel

    • admin

Vanessa, actually it’s greener! I even pulled out a little bit of green to give the images a softer feel…spring has definitely sprung in Atlanta although some days feel more like it than others 😉 Thank you for your message!ReplyCancel

By now it’s no secret I’m obsessed with babies.  My love for the intoxicating smell of newborn skin is deep-routed from my childhood (I was notorious for purposefully waking sleeping babies just so I could “come to the rescue” and hold them)…and it only got worse the day I met my very own, brand new […]

  • […] I am so excited to be participating in The Motherhood Collective this year. Its a challenge to take an image with my kiddo once a month. Easier said then done! Why is this so important? I hope my love for him will be imprinted in these images. That someday, even if I am not there, he will have a tangible reminder of how much his Mama loves him. What a lucky mama I am! Keep following the circle to sweet Heather Carraway. […]ReplyCancel
