Our September | A Short Film

So it’s officially fall…wheww!!  Fall always comes and goes so fast, and usually includes all my favorite things…jeans and boots, movies by the fire, football and chili, holidays spent with family.  But with fall obviously comes the end of summer…bittersweet, because it’s been SO HOT down here and the fall chill is certainly welcome, but there’s just nothing like kids and summertime.  This year, every season is flying by in the blink of an eye – I think that’s just life with two.  After Liam was born, I was lucky enough to secure a spot in a course I’ve been wanting to take for YEARS and finally decided it was time.  Over the past couple years I’ve studied the basics of  capturing video with my DSLR, but never quite knew what to do with it or how to take it to the next level.  With a busy family and bustling career, it’s always hard to find the extra time to add another thing – creative or otherwise – to my plate.  But this one is important to me.  I’m learning to use my eye for light and composition to create compelling films that capture movement, voice, and visual to tell a story – and in this case, it’s the story of my life.  In all the ways.  Photos will always be my first love…the ability to look at something tangible and physically hold onto a memory in your hands, without the need for technology…but films capture those memories in another dimension.  The little movements, the mannerisms, the voices.  I hope you’ll join me on my new venture…I’m excited about the opportunity to preserve these memories for my own family and the potential to do the same for my clients.  Stay tuned!

And because no post of mine is complete without photos, here are a few from our quick end-of-summer jaunt to Palm Coast and the resulting one-on-one session I had with my first born.  How adored she is.
